Humans in Crisis will also be providing one-time financial assistance to the Women's Foundation for the creation of a sustainable counseling and skills training program for women during 2011.
The new training program offers practical training and education annually for 20 women in a safe learning environment, providing knowledge and skills development while benefiting from group solidarity and the sharing of common experiences.
This type of training program is most effective for women having no prior opportunities to access education. Not only will the program provide practical skills but it will also offer business training to encourage women entrepreneurship and management best practices.
Since 1995, the Women's Foundation has trained more than 1,000 women, many of whom independently operate their own businesses of which 86 are located in Kathmandu.
