School2School is an initiative promoting cultural exchange while mitigating spatial exclusions through education.
Creating unique learning opportunities, our School2School Initiative facilitates strengthens oral and written language skills of students in Nepal and the United States. Establishing linkages between classrooms, students in the US are introduced to ongoing and critical global issues while learning about other cultures and social responsibility.
In Nepal, the initiative delivers new learning tools and methodologies for teachers and aims to improve English language proficiencies among students. This is especially beneficial for rural community schools that are unable to attract high quality teachers and promotes attendance by young girls that historically are at high risk of failing to complete a secondary education.
Our partners for this initiative are Educate Chepang Initiative and Rural Assistance Nepal in Bardia, Chitwan, Dolakha and Solukhumbu districts.
Humans in Crisis plans to pilot the School2School Initiative in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in the 2012-13 academic year. If you are a secondary school teacher and are interested in participating, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
